“We do not look in our great cities for our best morality.”

(Jane Austen)

I felt Micaiah kick for the first time tonight! I still think it’s a little bit creepy, but it’s fun to know that he really is in there! This pregnancy seems to be going on longer than Charis’s, but I’m sure he will be here before I know it.

My commute to my old job was quite a bit longer, and while I’m not a big fan of driving, there is definitely something I miss about it. To get to my old job I had to drive down a highway that crested several large hills. At the top of each hill, the next little valley spread out below you. Whether it was a bright spring morning, a fall afternoon, or a crisp, clear winter morning, the beauty of creation never ceased to grab my attention. I definitely miss that little glimpse of the majestic and often spectacular as I drive to and from work each day.

Click “more” to see a list of all of the interesting web sites I found this week. I keep track of my favorite sites using del.icio.us, a free web site where you can access your favorite links from any computer and share them with friends. You can also see all of my favorite links (not just the ones from this week).

My wife just relaunched her blog site with a great new domain name and title: Oy With The Poodles Already. You can check out her freshly updated site to see where the crazy name comes from.

I decided to go ahead and flip my blog’s address from 55rueplumet.com to my recently acquired rueplumet.com. The domain name change will cause at least a short blip in where I show up in Google search results, but I’ve been waiting a very long time to finally get the rueplumet domain name. I decided that after all of that waiting, I definitely wanted to use it. If you follow any old links to 55rueplumet you should be immediately and seamlessly forwarded to the new address.

Since I was switching domain names for my blog, I took the opportunity to change around a few other things regarding our website, too. I combined my work and personal photo galleries into a single gallery to reduce the seemingly endless task of keeping the photo galleries up to date with the latest version of the Coppermine script. I also changed Charis’s photo gallery to be a combined gallery for Charis and Micaiah so that we will be ready for the new baby this summer. In doing that, I also changed the theme for the gallery from pink to green to make it more neutral now that we will have both a girl and a boy.

“All I really need to know
Is if you who live in eternity
Hear the prayers of those of us who live in time

We can’t see what’s ahead
And we can not get free of what we’ve left behind

I’m reeling from these voices that keep screaming in my ears
All the words of shame and doubt, blame and regret

I can’t see how you’re leading me unless you’ve led me here
Where I’m lost enough to let myself be led

And so you’ve been here all along I guess
It’s just your ways and you are just plain hard to get”

(from the song “Hard To Get” by Rich Mullins)
