I’ve just released CoppermineSC version 0.4.6! You can download the new version or visit my CoppermineSC page for complete details about the plugin. You can also view a sample of what CoppermineSC can do. Feel free to post comments and feature requests to this entry.
This version of CoppermineSC should work with WordPress 2.5.1 and Coppermine 1.4.18, which are the latest versions of WordPress and Coppermine as of the time of this release.
New Features in Version 0.4.6:
- Fixed compatibility problem with WordPress 2.5 and newer. Special thanks to Brian Jarrett for finding both the problem and the solution!
- A detailed list of all changes is available.
This release contains no new functionality. It only fixes a compatibility problem with WordPress 2.5 and newer. If you run into a problem with this release I will work with you to resolve it as my time permits.

I’ve just intalled the plugin but instead of displaying the images in the post all i get is the code. I don’t have any other plugins installed, and the Coppermine DB info is correct. Any ideas on how to fix it? thanks

Great Plugin! Just one question: where i’m supposed to set the image links to either link to the normal size image or to the album, i’m trying to set it to point to the album, but changing “normalimage” to “album”, still points to the normal size image, how do i make it point to the album? like on the link it created under the images.. any help would be very much appreciated.

Thank you, thank you, thank you!!!
I run WordPress (2.6) and Coppermine (1.4.18) and have been searching for a plugin to view my online photos. Up until now I have been using the TTC Plugin but it has not been updated for ages and occasionally would play up.
I have done some basic testing and your plugin seems to be working like a dream.
My only request for improvement would be to include an option to create frames/borders around the images.

Hi, this looks like a great plugin.
I am going to replace Ktools Photostore with Coppermine, and use WordPress for my main site… I was wondering about replacing nextgen-gallery (a WP plugin) also, but the only thing NGGal has that your plugin doesn’t (that I use, anyway) is showing related images in posts… I can probably do this with a WP conditional? But is there any way to pull from the CM database photos that have a specific tag (not category)?
Thanks,
Tim

Hi, thanks for the plugin – just what I was hoping to find. Just a note on usage – found an answer to a problem I was having getting the photos to show up here http://supermonster.net/wordpress/?p=22 . Turns out that copying and pasting the formatted orange text from here on the plugin setup webpage when writing a post makes the post read the call out as text and display [cpg_galrandfullsize:3] or whatever in the post instead of inserting the photo. Just typed the call out in directly with plain black text and voila! As the supermonster said, the photos magically appeared. Now I can happily use the plugin. Just sharing in case others come up against the same stumbling block. Thanks again.

Thank you so much for this plugin. It’s just what I was looking for.
Just one question though – how could I display the album name alongside each of the images? I’m using the Highslide script to display the images retrieved by your plugin, and I’d like to show the album name as the caption of the image.
Thanks,
Andrei

Hi there, i have modified your plugin to enable resizing photos to fit into the blog better especially if the full or normal sized pictues are large.
I have just updated to 0.4.6 and am glad to say my hack still works. Have a look, and feel free to contact me if you want to know about the modifications.

It seems the download links and all related information is gone. Might be good to move this to an official WordPress plugin repository, or a place like github.com.

Chess, sorry for your difficulties downloading the files. My web host moved my files to a new server last week and that ended up causing some real problems with my web site. I think everything is finally up and running again, and the download seems functional now, at least for me. Time to look around and see if it’s time for a new web hosting service!

Hi Brad,
I have been a keen WordPress and Coppermine user now for close to 12 months. I still remember how excited I was at the time when I stumbled across your plugin – it remains the only WP/Coppermine plugin that works under WP 2.7.
It has always surprised me why CoppermineSC was never moved into the WP plugin repository as I think it’s a great piece of work and many more folks could possibly benefit.
Let me ask you a question: How would you feel if I took on the ongoing development of the CoppermineSC. Although I have never coded a plugin before over the past year I have on many occasions delved into the world of PHP and CSS. I’m at a stage where I believe I’m ready to take that next “step”.
Previous developers that have contributed to this plugin would of course get a mention. Initially my aim would be to move the plugin into the WP repository, enable the configuration of plugin settings into the WP admin panel and possibly look at localisation. I would also setup a Forum for ongoing user interaction.
Please let me know your thoughts.

Hi Brad,
I was wondering how i can use coppermine as a gallery for WP. And your plugin does the job correctly! Thanks for that.
Is it possible to let the pictures in my WP site open in lightbox or some other visualisation?
Because if i click on the thumbnail now, it goes to my coppermine album. And i don’t want people to go to my coppermine site.

Hello there, great script, really like it!
I was wondering if it’s possible and if so how to get the script to pull a random image and put it inside the sidebar?
I tried a simple thing by doing this:
sidebar.php
but it seems wordpress does not render the script when coding straight into the sidebar, is there another way to achieve this?
Thanks again for the great work

Sorry, was lousy of me not to read the instructions properly, it works fine now.
I do however have a question, would there be anyway to sort out or skip any of the files that contains audio or video, cause those thumbnails will not show up, it will come out as plain text.
Thanks for all the hard work!

Hi Brad,
Lovely plugin you’ve made. I was wondering if there’s anyway to exclude content from more then 1 album? I have 4 galleries with both audio/video/images, but it’s all sorted out by category and albums basies. Would there be a way to execute a query and manually input the albumID’s id want to exclude?
Please get back to me! Thank you for this awesome plugin!

Hi,
I´m working on custom home page site for my blog. Is there a way to execute CoppermineSC tag inside .php file?
Best regards!

Awesome plugin, thanks for all your hard hork in keeping it up to date and all.
It works like a charm for me, your detailed instructions led me smoothly through the installation and setup.
I have a question, though.
Can I modify the HTML the codes generate? Like setting up a nice cell spaced table?
I hope you see this, thanks!

Great plugin! I love it, its so handy for what I do. Just a couple of questions;
1. On the latest 3 gallery thumbs one is there any way to have more than 3 because I would really like to display 5 latest gallery images?
2. On the latest thumbs from cat 5 is there anyway to change which category you pull images from?
Thanks x
